You’re responsible for inspiring children’s interest in learning, and building the foundation of their educational development. But you knew that bit.

Here’s what you might not know:

• You’ll supervise group activities.
• Set up equipment for activities and keep rooms safe and tidy.
• Help develop learning programmes and adapt appropriate materials.
• Motivate and encourage children.
• And monitor and record children’s behaviour and progress.
• And you should always know and understand the policies of any nursery you work at.

Beyond that, be yourself.
