Year 6 Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support - September 2026

<p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Humly are recruiting for an experienced Year 6 Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Key Stage 2 classroom from September 2026.</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">This role is ideal for a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with challenging behaviour and a strong understanding of Key Stage 2. You’ll be working closely with the class teacher to support learning, classroom routines, behaviour and pupil engagement throughout the school day.</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Experience supporting challenging behaviour and knowledge of KS2 are essential for this role.</p><h2 class=""><strong>Role Details</strong></h2><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"><strong>Location:</strong> To be confirmed<br><strong>Pay Rate:</strong> £14.25 per hour<br><strong>Schedule:</strong> To be confirmed<br><strong>Start Date:</strong> September 2026<br><strong>Role Type:</strong> Temporary school-based booking</p><h2 class=""><strong>What You’ll Be Doing</strong></h2><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">You’ll be supporting pupils in a Year 6 class with:</p><ul class="list-disc pl-6"><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">General classroom support across the KS2 curriculum</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Behaviour support and positive behaviour management</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Supporting pupils to stay focused, regulated and engaged with learning</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Small-group interventions and individual pupil support</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Helping pupils build confidence, independence and resilience</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Maintaining clear routines and consistent expectations</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Working closely with the class teacher and wider primary school team</p></li></ul><h2 class=""><strong>You’ll Be a Good Fit If You…</strong></h2><ul class="list-disc pl-6"><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Have experience as a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, KS2 Teaching Assistant, Primary Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support Assistant</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Have experience supporting children with challenging behaviour</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Have strong knowledge of Key Stage 2 routines, expectations and learning</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Are confident using positive behaviour management strategies</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Can remain calm, firm and consistent in challenging situations</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Are proactive, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Can support individuals, small groups and the wider class</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or are willing to apply for one</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Are willing to complete Humly’s safeguarding and compliance process before placement</p></li></ul><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"></p>
