SEND Post-16 Teacher

<h2 class="">Overview</h2><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">An established specialist SEN school in the London Borough of Sutton is seeking a committed and experienced Post-16 SEND Teacher to join their team from April through to the end of the academic year.</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">This role offers the chance to play a vital part in preparing young people aged 16–19 for adulthood. You will support learners with complex needs to develop independence, functional academic skills, communication, and confidence within a structured and nurturing setting.</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"></p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"><strong>Age Range: </strong>16–19 years</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"><strong>Contract: </strong>Monday To Friday 8:45AM To 4:00PM</p><h2 class="">Key Responsibilities</h2><ul class="list-disc pl-6 space-y-1"><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Take responsibility for a class of learners with complex needs</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Design and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Adapt learning to meet individual EHCP targets</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Establish consistent routines and implement positive behavior strategies</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and multidisciplinary teams</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Track progress, complete assessments, and contribute to annual reviews</p></li></ul><h2 class="">Candidate Profile</h2><ul class="list-disc pl-6 space-y-1"><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">QTS or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Experience teaching Post-16 students with SEND</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">A strong understanding of EHCP-led planning and personalized provision</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Experience supporting learners with ASD, PMLD, and complex needs</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Resilience, patience, and a proactive mindset</p></li></ul><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"></p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"><strong>Successful applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS certificate.
