    Overview

    An established specialist SEN school in the London Borough of Sutton is seeking a committed and experienced Post-16 SEND Teacher to join their team from April through to the end of the academic year.

    This role offers the chance to play a vital part in preparing young people aged 16–19 for adulthood. You will support learners with complex needs to develop independence, functional academic skills, communication, and confidence within a structured and nurturing setting.

    Age Range: 16–19 years

    Contract: Monday To Friday 8:45AM To 4:00PM

    Key Responsibilities

    • Take responsibility for a class of learners with complex needs

    • Design and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons

    • Adapt learning to meet individual EHCP targets

    • Establish consistent routines and implement positive behavior strategies

    • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and multidisciplinary teams

    • Track progress, complete assessments, and contribute to annual reviews

    Candidate Profile

    • QTS or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification

    • Experience teaching Post-16 students with SEND

    • A strong understanding of EHCP-led planning and personalized provision

    • Experience supporting learners with ASD, PMLD, and complex needs

    • Resilience, patience, and a proactive mindset

    Successful applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS certificate. Full support will be provided throughout the process.
