Overview
We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a forward-thinking specialist SEN College in Lambeth. The college supports learners with a range of additional needs, including Autism, PMLD, complex needs, and communication difficulties.
With the recent opening of a brand-new site, the college is entering a dynamic phase of growth and development. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an expanding provision that is committed to empowering young people to achieve their goals and develop essential skills for adulthood.
Age Range: 16–19+ years
Contract: Monday to Friday 8:30am To 4:00PM
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored in-class support to enable students to access personalised learning programmes.
Foster positive and trusting relationships that promote independence, confidence, and life skills development.
Support students with personal care, mobility, and emotional regulation where required.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and support teams to ensure a consistent and nurturing learning environment.
Implement effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies where necessary.
Candidate Profile
Previous experience supporting young people with SEN (Autism, PMLD, or complex needs desirable).
Calm, patient, and resilient with a proactive mindset.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
Successful applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS certificate. Full support will be provided throughout the process.
