Humly are recruiting for a resilient, patient and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a primary school in Workington from after the October half-term. This full-time role will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil and is expected to run through to Christmas, with potential to continue into the new year.
This 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or education professional who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs. The pupil has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated behavioural needs, so the school is looking for someone who can establish a strong rapport, maintain clear boundaries and provide a structured and supportive environment throughout the school day.

What You'll Be Doing
Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil
Supporting the pupil to access classroom learning and activities
Establishing a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
Providing clear, consistent and structured support
Maintaining appropriate boundaries throughout the school day
Supporting emotional regulation and positive engagement
Helping the pupil manage classroom routines and transitions
Encouraging confidence, independence and participation in learning
Supporting positive behaviour and engagement
Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team
Following individual support strategies and guidance provided by the school
Helping create a calm, safe and supportive learning environment
You'll Be a Good Fit If You...
Have previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar education role
Have experience providing 1:1 support in a primary school setting
Have experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Are confident supporting pupils with behavioural or additional needs
Are resilient, patient and consistent
Can establish strong and positive relationships with pupils
Are confident maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries
Can provide structure and consistency throughout the school day
Have a calm and supportive approach
Are adaptable and able to respond to individual pupil needs
Can work effectively alongside teachers and SEN staff
Are available for full-time work from after the October half-term
