<h2 class="">Overview</h2><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">We are working in partnership with a respected SEN College in New Malden, Surrey, to appoint a committed and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant for a long-term position.</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">The college supports young people with a variety of complex learning needs, including Autism (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Their tailored, person-centred approach focuses on developing communication, independence, life skills, and employability—empowering learners to transition confidently into adulthood.</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"></p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"><strong>Age Range:</strong> 16–25 years</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"><strong>Contract: </strong>Monday To Friday 8:45AM To 3:30PM</p><h2 class="">Key Responsibilities</h2><ul class="list-disc pl-6 space-y-1"><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Deliver 1:1 and small group support for students with ASD and PMLD</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Assist with personal care and daily living tasks when required</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Promote communication, social development, and independent living skills</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Support students during practical sessions such as cookery, travel training, and work-related learning</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and external professionals</p></li></ul><h2 class="">Candidate Profile</h2><ul class="list-disc pl-6 space-y-1"><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Previous experience supporting individuals with Autism and/or PMLD</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Calm, patient, and nurturing approach</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Comfortable supporting personal care needs</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Strong teamwork and communication skills</p></li></ul><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"></p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"><strong>Successful applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS certificate.
