    Humly North West are recruiting for an organised and proactive School Business Manager / Admin Officer to join a school in Carlisle.

    This is a full-time role starting on 14 September 2026 and running initially until 23 October 2026, with potential to continue beyond the October half term depending on the needs of the school.

    You will play a key role in the smooth running of the school office, supporting day-to-day administration, finance processes, HR procedures and communication with parents, visitors and staff.

    The school is looking for someone professional, reliable and confident working in a busy school environment.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    As the School Business Manager / Admin Officer, you will support the day-to-day running of the school’s administrative functions.

    Your role may include:

    • Managing daily school office operations

    • Acting as a first point of contact for parents, visitors and staff

    • Handling phone calls, emails and general enquiries

    • Supporting attendance, pupil records and school communications

    • Assisting with finance and budget administration

    • Supporting invoices, purchase orders and general finance processes

    • Helping with HR administration and staff records

    • Maintaining accurate and confidential information

    • Supporting the Headteacher and senior staff with admin tasks

    • Helping keep office systems organised and up to date

    • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures

    • Creating a welcoming and professional office environment

    The role needs someone who can stay calm under pressure, manage competing priorities and keep the school office running smoothly.

    You’ll Be a Good Fit If You...

    • Have experience in school administration, office management or business support

    • Have worked as a School Business Manager, Admin Officer, School Administrator or similar

    • Are confident with finance and HR administration

    • Are organised, accurate and proactive

    • Have strong communication skills

    • Can deal professionally with parents, visitors, pupils and staff

    • Are confident using school or office systems

    • Can manage confidential information appropriately

    • Are reliable and able to commit to a full-time role

    • Are available from 14 September 2026

    • Have, or are willing to complete, the required safeguarding and compliance checks
