<p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Humly are recruiting for a patient and adaptable SEN Learning Support Assistant to work at a primary school in Carlisle from September 2026, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs within a mixed Year 3/4 classroom.</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">This full-time role will run Monday to Friday throughout the Autumn Term, from 1 September 2026 to 18 December 2026, with strong potential for the booking to continue beyond Christmas. The class includes pupils with a mixed range of SEN needs, so the school is looking for someone calm, consistent and confident supporting children who may need additional help with learning, communication, classroom routines, independence and social development.</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">This role would suit an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant or 1:1 Support Assistant who enjoys working closely with lower Key Stage 2 pupils and helping children build confidence both academically and socially.</p><h2 class=""><strong>Role Details</strong></h2><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"><strong>Location:</strong> Carlisle<br><strong>Pay:</strong> £15.46 per hour<br><strong>Start date:</strong> 1 September 2026<br><strong>End date:</strong> 18 December 2026, with potential to extend<br><strong>Schedule:</strong> Full-time, Monday to Friday<br><strong>Year group:</strong> Mixed Year 3/4 class<br><strong>Role type:</strong> SEN Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Primary Teaching Assistant<br><strong>Setting:</strong> Primary school<br><strong>Focus:</strong> SEN support, classroom support, small-group work, independence, communication and social development</p><h2 class="">What You’ll Be Doing</h2><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">As an SEN Learning Support Assistant with Humly, you will support pupils with additional needs within a mixed Year 3/4 classroom.</p><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Your role may include:</p><ul class="list-disc pl-6"><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs across the school day</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Providing targeted support within a mixed Year 3/4 classroom</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Helping children access learning and remain engaged during lessons</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Providing 1:1 and small-group support where needed</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Supporting literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Helping pupils develop confidence and independence</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Supporting communication and positive social interaction</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Helping children follow classroom routines and manage transitions</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Using calm, consistent behaviour support strategies</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Providing feedback to school staff on pupil engagement, progress and support needs</p></li></ul><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys helping children overcome barriers to learning and become more confident and independent in the classroom.</p><h2 class="">You’ll Be a Good Fit If You...</h2><ul class="list-disc pl-6"><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Have experience as an SEN Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant or 1:1 Support Assistant</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Have worked with children with additional needs in a UK primary school, SEN, education or childcare setting</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Are confident supporting lower Key Stage 2 pupils</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Have experience supporting pupils in Year 3 or Year 4</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Are comfortable providing 1:1 and small-group support</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Can support learning, communication, independence and social development</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Have a calm, patient and consistent approach</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear routines and expectations</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Work well with teachers, SENCOs and wider school staff</p></li><li><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed">Are reliable, professional and available full-time from September 2026</p></li></ul><p class="text-sm leading-relaxed"></p>
