Humly are recruiting for an adaptable Primary Teacher with QTS to work at a primary school in Workington from September 2026.
This full-time role will run for the Autumn Term, from 1 September 2026 to 18 December 2026. You will be the main classroom teacher for a mixed Year 3/4 class, while also providing PPA cover across other classes on designated afternoons.
This role is ideal for a Primary Teacher who enjoys having their own class base, building strong relationships with pupils and keeping learning on track, but also likes the variety of teaching across different year groups. The school is looking for someone confident, organised and adaptable who can manage both the consistency of a class teacher role and the flexibility needed for PPA cover.

What You’ll Be Doing
As the Primary Teacher, you will take responsibility for a mixed Year 3/4 class while also providing PPA cover across the school on designated afternoons.
Your role may include:
Teaching a mixed Year 3/4 class on a full-time basis
Planning and delivering engaging lower KS2 lessons
Creating clear classroom routines and positive behaviour expectations
Supporting pupils across literacy, numeracy and the wider primary curriculum
Assessing progress and adapting teaching where needed
Working closely with teaching assistants and school staff
Providing PPA cover across other classes on designated afternoons
Adapting quickly to different year groups and lesson content
Maintaining consistent classroom expectations when covering other classes
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents where needed
The role offers a good mix of consistency and variety, with your own class base alongside regular opportunities to teach across other areas of the school.
You’ll Be a Good Fit If You...
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have experience teaching in UK primary schools
Are confident teaching lower Key Stage 2, particularly Year 3 and Year 4
Can plan and deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
Have strong classroom management and clear behaviour routines
Are adaptable and comfortable teaching across different year groups
Can manage the responsibilities of a class teacher role
Work well with teaching assistants, colleagues and school leaders
Are reliable, organised and able to settle quickly into a new school
Are available full-time from September to December 2026
