    Humly North West are recruiting for an adaptable Primary Teacher to provide regular PPA cover at Pennine Way Primary School in Carlisle.

    This is a part-time role starting on 7 September 2026 and running until 18 December 2026, covering the Autumn Term.

    The school can be flexible on the working pattern and can offer either 5 mornings per week or 2.5 days per week. You will be covering planning, preparation and assessment time, mainly across Key Stage 1, with potential cover in Year 3.

    This role would suit a qualified Primary Teacher who is confident moving between classes, following planning and keeping pupils engaged across the school day.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    As the Primary Teacher, you will provide regular PPA cover across the school.

    Your role will include:

    • Delivering planned lessons across different classes

    • Providing PPA cover for class teachers

    • Teaching mainly across Key Stage 1

    • Potentially covering some Year 3 lessons

    • Managing classroom routines and expectations

    • Keeping pupils focused, settled and engaged

    • Adapting lessons to support different abilities

    • Working with teaching assistants and school staff

    • Providing feedback on learning, behaviour and progress

    • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures

    • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff

    The school needs someone who can be flexible, reliable and confident stepping into different classrooms.

    You’ll Be a Good Fit If You...

    • Hold QTS

    • Have experience teaching in UK primary schools

    • Are confident teaching Key Stage 1

    • Are comfortable covering Year 3 if needed

    • Can follow planning and deliver lessons confidently

    • Have strong classroom management skills

    • Are reliable, organised and professional

    • Can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff

    • Are looking for a regular part-time teaching role

    • Are available from September 2026

    • Have, or are willing to complete, the required safeguarding and compliance checks

    Longer-Term Roles and Pay

    For longer-term teacher bookings, AWR may apply from week 13 where you remain in the same role with the same hirer. Where this applies, your pay may be reviewed in line with the school’s equivalent rate.
