We are recruiting for a School Cook to join a welcoming school in Carlisle from September. This full-time, permanent, term time only opportunity is ideal for an experienced cook who enjoys preparing nutritious meals for children and takes pride in creating a positive lunchtime experience.
This School Cook role would suit someone with previous experience working in a school kitchen or similar catering environment. We're looking for someone who is friendly, enthusiastic, creative and committed to healthy eating, with the confidence to manage food preparation, maintain high hygiene standards and help make mealtimes an enjoyable part of the school day.

What You'll Be Doing
Preparing and cooking healthy, nutritious meals for pupils each day
Planning balanced menus that meet school food standards
Creating a welcoming dining experience for children
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health and safety standards
Managing food storage, stock rotation and ordering where required
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school kitchen
Working closely with colleagues to ensure an efficient catering service

Have previous catering and cooking experience in a school or similar environment

Are organised and able to work efficiently in a busy kitchen
Have a friendly and positive approach with children and colleagues
