    An exciting Long Term opportunity is available for a Teaching Assistant within the Secondary sector in Durham. This role is perfect for educators looking to make a real impact in a supportive school environment.

    Our client school, a small independent school in County Durham are looking for an additional member of staff to work with a student on a 1:1 basis with a student in Year 8. The student has an EHCP and requires support from an adult. He is a well-natured, intelligent student who needs a calm, supporting and caring adult by his side.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver high-quality learning experiences aligned with the school's curriculum and expectations.

    • Build positive relationships with students to support their academic and personal development within the Secondary setting.

    • Maintain effective classroom management and a productive learning atmosphere.

    • Follow all safeguarding and reporting protocols required by the school.

    Candidate Profile

    • Relevant qualifications for a Teaching Assistant (e.g., QTS or equivalent).

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills suited to the Secondary sector.

    • Reliability, adaptability, and a genuine passion for education.

    • Ability to work effectively within a school community in Durham.
