Humly are recruiting for a patient and nurturing Learning Support Assistant to support a primary school in Wigton from late September. This full-time 1:1 role will involve supporting a Reception pupil during the first half of the Autumn term, helping them adapt to early years routines, access play-based learning and settle happily into school life.

This 1:1 Learning Support Assistant role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Early Years Practitioner or education professional who is confident working with young children. You'll provide consistent, individual support throughout the school day, helping the pupil develop confidence, independence and positive relationships within the Reception classroom.

• Supporting a Reception pupil

• Start from late September

• Initially covering the first half of the Autumn term

• Potential to extend further depending on school requirements

• Supporting early years routines and play-based learning

• Providing dedicated 1:1 guidance throughout the school day

• £15.46 per hour

• Working closely with the Reception class teacher and wider school team

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Reception pupil

• Helping the pupil settle into school routines

• Supporting access to play-based learning and classroom activities

• Encouraging confidence, communication and independence

• Supporting transitions throughout the school day

• Helping the pupil engage positively with peers and staff

• Building a warm, trusting and positive relationship with the pupil

• Supporting early years learning and development

• Helping create a calm, safe and welcoming classroom environment

• Working closely with the Reception teacher and wider school team

• Providing consistent encouragement and reassurance throughout the school day

You'll Be a Good Fit If You...

• Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Early Years Practitioner or similar education role

• Have experience working with Reception or Early Years pupils

• Are confident providing dedicated 1:1 support

• Have a patient, caring and nurturing approach

• Can build positive relationships with young children

• Understand the importance of consistency when supporting pupils

• Are confident supporting play-based learning and early years routines

• Can encourage confidence and independence

• Are reliable and adaptable

• Can work effectively alongside a class teacher

• Are available to start in late September
